The following Policy has been established based on industry standards, management and operational procedures, and our personal experience of owning and operating the Above tide Motel since 2015. As our motel guest, by reading and signing your motel registration you are agreeing to abide by Our Policy, terms and conditions, and procedures. Our Policy may change from time to time, so please check back often.
NO SMOKING IN THE BUILDING (INCLUDING BALCONIES)
We do not permit smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, vaping, cartridges containing the liquid of nicotine, hookahs, incense, cooking, cigars, candle burning, the use or diffusing of patchouli oil or other strong-smelling plant-based essential oils or synthetic products in our facility.
Guests are encouraged to notify Front Desk staff immediately if they smell cigarette, marijuana, or other objectionable odours. This policy is not intended to stop people from smoking, but to regulate where they smoke and how it affects others. A Designated Smoking Area is provided outside at the end of the parking lot
SMOKING PENALTY IS $300.00
CHECK-IN TIME: 3:00 p.m. Early Check in upon request only. We utilize a contactless check in - Check out system.
CHECK-OUT TIME: 11:00 a.m. Additional day charge plus tax may apply for late checkout.( $20 charge on every hour )
All reservations and registration must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card. We accept Visa and Master Card. Cash and Debit Card payment is welcomed with a $300 security deposit All guests are required to present a valid major credit card and government issued photo identification even when using cash or debit. Cheques and foreign currency not accepted. We charge the room 2 days before arrival date.
Above Tide Motel is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, or schedule changes. Reservations must be cancelled forty-eight (48 hours) , prior to your arrival date, in order to avoid a cancellation fee. If reservations are cancelled less than 48 hours before the arrival date, you will be charged the full amount room rate plus taxes. If you cancel any reservation, you must obtain and save the cancellation number for your records.
NO SHOW CHARGES
Failure to check in on the scheduled arrival date for a reservation guaranteed with a credit card will result in a No-Show fee being charged to your credit card. You will be charged the full amount room rate plus taxes.
HOUSEKEEPING/ROOM INSPECTION (NOTICE) Due to COVID 19, we will not be providing housekeeping during your stay. Please ask for replacement items to the front desk. If housekeeping is required, surcharges may apply.
We provide daily housekeeping. If you stay more than one night and need housekeeping, please display the Housekeeping sign on the door before 11 AM. We do not have 24 hour housekeeping staff. We do not touch customer's belonging. If any customer's stuff is on the bed, we would not remake a bed. We do not change hanging towels. If you want to change your used towels, please put the towels in the bathtub.
Daily housekeeping does not include the cleaning of crockery, cutlery or cooking utensils. Should you require this service, please contact reception(a fee may apply). Dishes left at checkout may incur a charge.
For guests staying multiples nights, bed linen is changed on a rotation schedule(every 3 days). But if you ask to change the bed linens, Housekeeping will be happy to change your bed linens and make your beds each day if all personal items are removed. Used towels are exchanged for fresh towels daily upon request. Please contact our Front Desk staff if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Room keys are issued to the registered guest(s). No room keys will be issued to youth under 18 at any time. I.D. is required if you have lost your key. Please return room keys to the KeyCafe Key Box or the Front Office. Lost or misplaced keys will have a $200 replacement fee.
CANDLE, INCENSE, ESSENTIAL OILS
Candle, incense, essential oils (diffusing, vaporizing, etc.) are prohibited. These items and activities will be treated as smoking, a fine accessed, and the guest may be evicted with no refunds.
NO COOKING, COOKING APPLIANCES, COMBUSTIBLES, OR FIREWORKS
The safety of our guests, staff, and this facility is extremely important to us. Except for the KITCHEN units that the motel provides, preparation of food in guest rooms by any type of cooking appliances is prohibited. A minimum fee of $300.00 will be charged for cooking in a non-kitchen room, Open fires, flames or cooking grills, either charcoal or gas, and fireworks are not allowed anywhere on motel property including the kitchen units.
RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE
Above Tide Motel is privately owned and operated. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or Province laws. .
Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. to 9 a.m. If you become aware of a disruptive guest, please contact Front Desk staff immediately by room phone or in person. Televisions, voices, and other devices must be kept at a respectful low level at all times. Doors should be opened and closed quietly. No congregating or running in halls.
No visitors after 10:00 p.m. Visitors must notify Front Desk upon their arrival. Visitors must be accompanied by the registered guest at all times. As a registered guest, you are responsible for your visitor at all times.
DO-NOT DISTURB AND ACCESS TO ROOMS
Management reserves the right to enter a room for reasonable purposes, such as an emergency, maintenance, to verify that the room, its furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent a violation of Our Policy. .
Children of all ages are welcomed. For their own safety, please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or allow them to roam the motel property unsupervised.
Room occupancy requirements are based on fire code/fire safety restrictions. Standard Room with 2 beds maximum occupancy is 4, and Budget rooms with 1 bed the maximum occupancy is 2.
Above Tide Motel is not responsible for any items left behind by a guest. However, any item, with the exception of perishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure by Housekeeping will be collected, logged in, and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner for up to fourteen (14) days. Reasonable effort will be made to notify the guest that an item has found. Perishable items, underwear, and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded.
Registered guests of legal age who choose to bring their own alcoholic beverages must consume those in their room. Alcohol is not allowed in public areas such as the lobby, halls, etc.
BICYCLES/HOVER BOARDS/ROLLER BLADES
Bicycles, Hover boards, and roller blades are not permitted in guest rooms and on parking site. Depending on available space, Front Desk staff will be happy to secure these items in our mechanical room. We assume no liability for theft, loss, and/or damage.
The cleanliness of our rooms is extremely important to us and our guests. If you bring any infestation into your room or onto our motel premises, we may charge you for any and all costs and expenses, including immediate or urgent response requirements and loss of room revenue, that we deem necessary to address the infestation.
PARKING AT OWN RISK
All vehicle(s) must be listed on the registration at check-in. Parking for registered guest(s) is free. All vehicles are parked at the risk of the owner. No riding bicycles and boards
DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT
Guest Rooms found with waste strewn around, in complete disorder, and/or “trashed” will be subject to a maintenance deep cleaning fee, administration fee and/or third party fees.
CHANGES OR MODIFICATION TO OUR POLICY
Above tide Motel reserves the right to amend, modify, change, cancel, vary or add to Our Policy or the arrangements and content featured on our Motel website at any time without prior notice.
